Solomon Davis collected a corner kick and scored the game-winning goal for the Wabash soccer team in a 2-1 home victory over DePauw Wednesday evening.

Davis took the shot from the far post after
Timothy Herring delivered a perfect corner kick across the mouth of the goal. Davis' shot in the 66
th minute swept past the goalkeeper and settled into the left corner of the net for the eventual game-winning score.

Wabash (11-5-1, 4-3-1 NCAC) took the early lead in the 32
nd minute.
Coledon Johnson scored the first goal for the Little Giants with a couple of quick moves in the box before turning and firing a shot into the right corner for his team-leading 12
th goal of the season. Johnson finished the match with a team-high two shots on goal and three total attempts.

DePauw (10-7-0, 4-4-0 NCAC) evened the score three minutes before halftime. Clay Troyer fired a shot after taking a quick restart pass from Joel Thompkins for his third goal of the year.

Wabash put a total of four shots on goal out of 14 total shot attempts. Little Giant goalkeeper
Michael Bertram earned the victory. He made one save and faced a total of eight shots from the Tiger with two on net.

The victory vaults Wabash into fourth place in the latest North Coast Athletic Conference standings with one match to play. The Little Giants can lock in a berth in the upcoming conference tournament with a victory Saturday against Oberlin College. The Little Giants and Yeomen meet at 1 p.m. at Fischer Field in the Wabash home finale for the season.
