Wabash split a baseball doubleheader against DePauw Sunday evening at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana. The Little Giants rallied in the late innings of the first game for a 4-3 victory before losing 17-5 in game two.

Wabash (1-1) trailed DePauw 3-0 through five innings. Pinch-hitter
Canton Terry laced a two-run double to left centerfield to cut the lead to one run.
Felix Valero followed with a triple to right center for his first collegiate hit, tying the game at 3-3 with the RBI hit to score Terry.

Dylan Scheid, who pitched two innings of relief for starter
Kase Lawson, struck out the Tigers (1-1) in the top half of the sixth inning. Scheid struck out four batters and allowed one hit and two runs with one walk to earn the victory.

The win came for Wabash in the bottom of the seventh.
Cameron Martin and
Austin Simmers started the rally with back-to-back walks to lead off the inning.
Sean Smith put down a sacrifice bunt that was thrown away, sending Martin home with the winning run.

Simmers paced the Wabash offense with a pair of hits from his leadoff spot. The Little Giants finished with seven hits in the game.

DePauw opened the first inning of game two with a six-run offensive attack, adding two more in second and seventh innings to go with one in fourth and another six-spot in the sixth. Wabash plated four runs in fifth on a three-run triple by
Cole Vassilo and an RBI double off the bat of Terry.
Andrew Jumonville drove in another run in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly. Vassilo's three RBI and two hits led the Wabash offense in game two as the Little Giant were limited to six hits over seven innings.

Wabash is slated to play its home opener this weekend with a three-game series against Alma College beginning with a single nine-inning game at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
