Wabash lost its first North Coast Athletic Conference lacrosse game of the 2021 season Wednesday night at home to DePauw University by a final score of 26-6.
 
The Little Giants (4-2, 0-1 NCAC) fell behind early and were never able to recovery. Anthony Nguyen put Wabash on the board with 1:46 remaining in the second period to cut the DePauw (2-3, 1-0 NCAC) to 12-1. Nguyen led the Little Giants with four of the six goals in the contest. Ethan Stonis and Caulin Fitzgerald both added goals in the third period for Wabash.
 
Stephen Krajcir made 10 saves in his first start in goal for Wabash. Jack Sullivan made three saves in his first appearance, and John Frey tallied two saves for the Little Giants.
 
Evan Schiefelbein led the team with 11 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Neil Pettinga won 13 faceoffs.
 
Wabash will travel to DePauw for the final game of the two-game series Saturday at 1 p.m.
