Wabash scored five runs in the first inning of Sunday's final game of the series against Denison to earn an 8-2 win and split the Sunday North Coast Athletic Conference West Division doubleheader versus the Big Red. Denison won game one 16-2.
Â
Wabash (11-11, 4-4 NCAC West) plated five runs on four hits in the opening inning of game two against Denison (12-4, 7-1 NCAC West).

Canton Terry doubled home a pair of runs, then scored on an RBI single by
Matthew Annee to cap the five-run frame.
Â
Denison answered with a run in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second. The Little Giants tacked on three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Simmers picked up an RBI with a single to right.
Kamden Earley scored one batter later on a wild pitch.

Â
The five-run first was all the run support starter
Tavic Simmons would need. He pitched a complete-game five-hit ball game to earn his first win of the season. Simmons gave up two runs in seven innings of work. He walked four and struck out three of the 27 batters he faced.
Â
Wabash took a 1-0 lead with a run in third inning of game one. Denison scored three in the bottom of the third and blew the game open with five runs in the fourth and another seven in the fifth. The Little Giants manage just five hits in the game. Vassilo and
AJ Reid collected on RBI apiece for Wabash in the game.
Â
Tyler Dearing took the loss, pitching 3-2/3 innings and allowing eight runs on nine hits with two walks.
Â
The Sunday split gave Denison the overall win in the four-game series 3-1 after sweeping both games at Wabash earlier in the week. The Little Giants will turn their attention to Ohio Wesleyan for a four-game series in the coming week, beginning with a pair of games in Delaware, Ohio on Wednesday. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
