Wabash College senior
AJ Shaheen scored two goals Thursday night for the Little Giants and
Ethan Stonis and
Joseph Plencner each scored one in an 18-4 loss at Wittenberg in North Coast Athletic Conference lacrosse action.

Shaheen tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth minute of play in the opening period with his 17th goal of the season. Stonis scored his 11th of the year for Wabash (4-8, 0-7 NCAC West) in the second period off a pass from Plencner with 1:46 left to play in the first half. Shaheen notched his second goal of the match with 1:19 left in the half to cut the Wittenberg (4-5, 3-2 NCAC West) advantage to 9-3 at the break.

Plencner added his 18th goal of the year in the fourth period to complete the scoring for the Little Giants.

Evan Schiefelbein took over the school record for ground balls in a single season. He recorded seven ground balls against Wittenberg for a total of 98 this season. Schiefelbein has scooped up 196 career ground balls in three seasons and is 16 away from the Wabash career record of 212 held by
Max Atkins.

Wabash posted 24 shots compared to 47 by Wittenberg in the game. Little Giant goalkeeper
Stephen Krajcir faced 29 shots on goal and made 11 saves. The Little Giants were successful on 16-of-21 clear attempts and won 13 of 25 faceoffs.
Samuel Miller won 8 of his 13 faceoffs tries to lead the team at the faceoff dot. The Little Giants finished with six caused turnovers in the game led by
Joe LaRue and Miller forcing two apiece.

Wabash and Wittenberg will play again on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fischer Field. Attendance restrictions will apply. The Little Giants will honor seniors Shaheen and LaRue prior to the opening faceoff.
