Wabash completed its two-game weekend road soccer trip to the St. Louis area on Sunday with a 3-1 victory at Fontbonne University. The win gives the Little Giants a 2-0 record for the weekend and a 3-2 overall mark.

Coledon Johnson provided the early scoring for Wabash, notching his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 23rd minute of the match. Fontbonne (0-2) answered with a game-tying goal three minutes later.
Alexis Delgado put the Little Giants back in front three minutes after the Fontbonne goal by scoring his goal of the season off a pass from
Bruno Zamora.

The score remained 2-1 at halftime.
Austin Hughes picked up an insurance goal in the fourth minute of the second period off a crossing pass by
Jackson Grabill to secure the 3-1 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper
Andrew Dever earned the win by limiting Fontbonne to one goal in 45 minutes of action.
Michael Bertram played goalkeeper in the second half and preserved the victory by making two saves.

Wabash outshot Fontbonne 21-5 and put eight shots on goal compared to three for the Griffins. Delgado and Zamora each finished with two shots on goal to lead the Little Giants on offense.

"We played well early and got a good goal from Coledon," Wabash head coach
Chris Keller said. "We controlled most of the game throughout. It was important to get the goal a few minutes after Fontbonne scored. Overall it was just a good performance by our team and gives us some confidence heading into three matches this week, starting with the game against Anderson on Tuesday."

Wabash returns to Fischer Field to play Anderson University Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Little Giants travel to Hanover on Saturday before closing out the week with a home match against Grinnell College at 2 p.m.
