Wabash Cruises To 5-0 Win Over Anderson

Wabash jumped out to an early lead Tuesday night against Anderson University in a home soccer match at Fischer Field. The Little Giants scored four first-half goals on the way to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Ravens.

Wabash (4-2) got the seventh goal of the season from team scoring leader Coledon Johnson in the first 1:26 of the contest. Johnson took a pass from Alexis Delgado and found the back of the net to put the Little Giants in front 1-0. Johnson struck again four minutes later as Adam Berg found Austin Hughes on the left side of the attack. Hughes delivered a perfect pass to Johnson through the box to set up the second goal of the match.

Ben Wallace jumped into the scoring column in the 28th minute by notching his first career goal. Wallace dribbled past the Anderson (2-4) defense and beat the Ravens' goalkeeper to put Wabash in front 3-0.

The Little Giants added one final goal in the first half. Jordan Donsky scored his second goal of the season on a pass into the box from Yuma Ozaki in the 36th minute to provide the 4-0 lead at halftime.

Ozaki scored his first goal as a Little Giant in the 75th minute of the match on an unassisted strike from 18 yards out to pick up his third point of the match and seal the 5-0 victory.

Michael Bertram earned the win for Wabash in goal. He played the first 45 minutes for the Little Giants and did not face a shot on goal. Henry Giesel played goalie in the second half and recorded three saves.

Wabash will travel to Hanover College for a Saturday 2 p.m. match before facing Grinnell College at home on Sunday at 2 p.m.
