Wabash shot 61 percent from the field and 55 percent from beyond the three-point arc in its 100-79 road victory at Hiram College Friday evening.

The visiting Little Giants moved into a tie for first place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standing with the win. Wabash is 10-3 overall and 5-1 in NCAC contests.

The Little Giants took an early lead on a jump shot from
Ahmoni Jones forty seconds into the game. The basket was one of nine made shots for the junior on the night. Jones blistered the nets, connecting on 9-of-10 shots from the field while going 4-for-4 from three-point range. He finished with 22 points in the contest.

Jack Davidson stretched the early Wabash lead to 6-0 with a made three-point basket and a free throw after he was fouled on the attempt. Davidson scored a game-high 27 points, giving him 1,954 career points. He moved past Jack Roudebush '74 and into third place on the Wabash all-time scoring list. Davidson trails Pete Metzelaars '82 in second place with 1,976 career points.

Wabash raced out to a seven-point lead before Hiram (4-9, 1-6 NCAC) answered with a 10-4 scoring run to cut the Little Giants' lead to one at 13-12. A pair of three-pointers from
Tyler Watson and a basket from
Jesse Hall put Wabash back in front by six points. Hiram cut the lead to four at 23-19 midway through the first half before Jones connected on back-to-back three-point baskets to give Wabash a double-digit lead. The Terriers got no closer than eight points in the opening quarter. Wabash eventually took a 50-37 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The Little Giants used a 12-5 run to start the second half and take a 20-point lead in the first three minutes of the final period. Wabash eventually took a 25-point lead at 68-43 on another basket from Jones with 16 minutes left to play. The Terriers eventually cut the lead to single digits at 76-67 with 9:47 remaining but the Little Giants pushed their advantage back to 24 points with five minutes showing on the clock.

Wabash cooled down from the field in the second half after shooting 19-of-29 (65 .5 percent) and 11-of-15 (73.3 percent) from three-point range in the first 20 minutes. The Little Giants shot 19-of-33 (57.6 percent) from the field and 4-12 (33.3 percent) from long range in the final period. Wabash also shot well from the stripe, connecting on 9-of-10 free-throws for the night.

Kellen Schreiber scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds for Wabash. Watson scored 15 points and had five assists.

Brodgie Gordon paced Hiram with 23 points. Kevin Beans, Jr. scored 20 points and Oliver Clingain finished with 11 points.

Wabash completes its double-header weekend on Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest at Kenyon College.
