Wabash jumped out to an early lead and scored a straight-set 3-0 win over Maranatha Baptist University in a match played at Marian University in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. The Little Giants lost a 3-1 contest to Marian in the second match of the day.

Wabash (1-2) scored the first two points of the opening set against Maranatha Baptist (1-4) on serves by
Luke Davis. The Sabercats tied the game at 2-2 before Wabash rolled off a string of five straight wins to move in front 7-2. The Little Giants built a 15-8 lead in the opening set before eventually claiming a 25-17 victory.

Wabash dominated the second set, scoring the first five points before rolling to a 25-9 victory to set up the sweep in the third set. The Sabercats forced Wabash to rally in the third. Maranatha Baptist scored the first two points before the Little Giants tied the score at 2-2. There were 11 ties and five lead changes in the final set before Wabash came away with a 25-21 victory and a three-set win.

Ricky Sessions led Wabash with nine kills.
Carson Meadors added eight kills.
Will Beikes tallied 29 assists in the three-set effort.
Luis Rivera posted a team-high 13 digs.
Evan Nichols had two solo blocks and one block assist along with an attack percentage of .500 with six kills.

The Little Giants scored a 25-21 victory in the first set of their match against Marian University (6-0) before losing the next three sets. Wabash lost 25-13 in the second set before battling to seven ties and four lead changes in a 25-19 loss in set number three. Marian claimed the fourth set with a tight 25-23 final score.

Nichols paced Wabash with 12 kills in the match versus Marian. Sessions added nine kills and Meadors finished with seven. Beikes scored 30 assists to finish with 59 for the day. Davis made a team-high 10 digs for the Little Giants.

Wabash returns to action on Tuesday, February 1 with an 8 p.m. (CST) match at Millikin University.
