Volleyball Honors Nichols Prior To Home Finale Versus Trine

The Wabash College volleyball team honored senior member Evan Nichols prior to the Little Giant's final 2022 home game Sunday versus Trine University. Wabash lost the Midwest College Volleyball League contest 3-0.
 
Nichols is a computer science major and only the second senior to play on the two-year-old varsity volleyball program.

Wabash (3-14, 0-4 MCVL) took a 2-0 lead in the opening set before Trine tied the score with two consecutive points. The two teams traded leads five times with nine ties before Trine (9-11, 1-2 MCVL) claimed a 13-12 lead and never trailed again. The Thunder finished the set off with a 25-18 victory for the early 1-0 lead.
 
Wabash was never able to gain a lead in the second set despite tying the score three times. Trine eventually took a 25-15 victory in the second set ahead of 25-13 victory in the final set for the 3-0 overall win.
 
Luke Davis paced Wabash on offense with five kills. Will Biekes returned to the lineup from an injury and led the Little Giants with seven assists. Luis Rivera and Zachary Small each recorded four digs for Wabash.
 
The Little Giants continue MCVL play with a match on Friday, March 25 at Baldwin Wallace University.
