Wabash swept a Sunday doubleheader against Illinois Wesleyan to improve to 12-2 for the season and remain unbeaten at home in 2022. The Little Giants won game one 7-1 before rallying from a 4-3 deficit to take game two by a score of 12-4.

Dylan Scheid earned his third win of the season on the mound in game one for the Little Giants. The North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week limited Illinois Wesleyan (8-8) to one run on two hits. Scheid walked four and struck out three batters in the winning effort.
Sam Phillips worked the final inning in relief and retired all three batters he faced while recording one strikeout.

The Little Giants scored three runs in the first inning on an RBI double by
Liam Patton and a two-run single off the bat of
Nick Logan. Wabash plated three more runs in the third when
AJ Reid drove in a pair with a double, then scored one batter later on a wild pitch. Reid helped Wabash score its final run in the fourth inning. He smashed a ball to short with
Austin Simmers on third and the infield drawn in to try and cut the run down at the plate. The Titans' shortstop made the initial stop but was unable to corral the baseball to try and throw Simmers out at home or retire Reid at first, allowing Wabash to score its seventh run of the game.

The Little Giants pounded out 11 hits in the seven-inning contest led by
Kamden Earley with three hits. Reid picked up a pair of hits with two RBI. Simmers, Patton, Logan,
Brayden Lentz,
Camden Scheidt, and
Reece Bauer each collected one hit.

Wabash took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of game two off an RBI single by Lentz. Reid scored the second run of the inning when Lentz started to steal second. An errant throw allowed Reid to score from third to put the Little Giants in front. Illinois Wesleyan scored a run in the third inning to cut the lead in half. Wabash answered with a run in the fourth on an RBI double by Scheidt. The Titans picked up three runs in the top of the fifth to move in front for the first time 4-3. Wabash answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning when Patton singled home Reid to tie the game at 4-4.

The Little Giants broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Michael Galanos started the five-run inning with a bunt single with runners on the corners to bring home
Alex Washlock with the go-ahead run. Simmers drew a bases-loaded walk to score the second run of the inning. Earley added another RBI with a single, followed by a sacrifice fly from Patton to put the Little Giants in front 9-4. Earley added another run with an RBI single in the seventh before Reid was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give Wabash an 11-4 lead. Wabash scored its final run on a double-play ground out to secure the 12-4 victory.

Jacob Bishop pitched 4-2/3 innings of relief to earn his third victory of the season. The lefthander held IWU hitless while walking four batters and striking out seven.
Derek Haslett started the game for Wabash. He scattered eight hits and three walks and gave up four runs while striking out four batters.

Wabash continues its non-conference schedule with a single nine-inning game at Rose-Hulman Tuesday at 6 p.m.
