Wabash Honors Lacrosse Seniors Prior To Home Game Versus Wooster

The Wabash College lacrosse team honored the senior members of its 2022 squad on Saturday prior to its home game versus The College of Wooster. The Little Giants lost the North Coast Athletic Conference contest by a score of 9-1.
 
Wabash (3-9, 0-5 NCAC) honored the careers of seniors Jeremiah Eaton, John Frey, Joseph Plencner, Evan Schiefelbein, and Tanner Simmons before the start of its game against Wooster (5-7, 3-2 NCAC). The visiting Scots drew first blood, scoring in the third minute of the contest. Plencner answered with his team-leading 22nd goal five minutes later to even the score at 1-1. Wooster took a 2-1 lead with a goal with four minutes remaining in the first period. The Scots scored twice more in the second period before adding five second-half goals.
 
Wabash matched the visiting Wooster squad shot for shot in the game. The Little Giants attempted 35 shots while Wooster took 36 shot attempts. Ethan Stonis led the team with 11 shot attempts. Plencner added another 10 shots overall.
 
Schiefelbein led the team with seven ground balls. Plencner paced Wabash with five caused turnovers. Luka DiFilippo won eight of his 13 faceoffs, including all four first-period efforts.
 
Matthew Hendrick recorded seven saves on 16 shots on goal by Wooster.
 
The Little Giants were successful on 15 of 20 clearing attempts.
 
Wabash travels to Wittenberg University on Wednesday, April 20, for a 7 p.m. contest.
