Wabash rallied for a three-run 10
th inning at Oberlin to claim a 15-12 victory in the second game of Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader versus the Yeomen. The Little Giants' ninth-inning rally in game one came up one run short in a 3-2 loss for a series split.

Wabash (17-12, 3-9 NCAC) held a commanding 12-5 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning of Saturday's finale. But Oberlin (7-20, 3-9 NCAC) scored seven runs to tie the game, including a six-run rally with two outs.

The Little Giants bounced right back by opening the 10
th inning with back-to-back walks to
Camden Scheidt and
Reece Bauer. A sacrifice bunt from
Michael Galanos moved the base runners to second and third to set the table for the top of the order.
Austin Simmers drew another walk with Scheidt scoring the eventual game-winning run and Bauer racing to third on a wild pitch. Simmers stole second to put two runners in scoring position once again for Wabash.

AJ Reid delivered the decisive blow with a two-run double to right field to score Bauer and Simmers for the 15-12 lead.
Tavic Simmons closed out the ballgame in the bottom of the 10
th by retiring three of the final four Oberlin batters. He earned his fifth win of the season and allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout.

Oberlin struck first by scoring three runs in the second inning. The Little Giants answered with a three-run third with an RBI groundout from
Liam Patton and RBI singles from
Kamden Earley and
Jackson Wannemuehler. Wabash added three more runs in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by
Evan Neukam, a run-scoring double from Earley, and an RBI single from
Noah Luebbehusen.

Wabash took an 8-3 lead by adding a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Patton and Neukam each collected RBI singles to expand the Little Giants' advantage. The Yeomen picked up two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning before Wabash rallied for four runs on five hits in the seventh. Neukam doubled home a pair of runs to give him four RBI for the game. That brought a reliever into the game for Oberlin.

Earley promptly greeted him with a solo home run down the right-field line for his first long ball of the season. He joined Neukam with four RBI.

Wabash collected 16 hits in game two, led by Neukam and Earley with three apiece. Simmers, Reid, and Luebbehusen each had two hits for the Little Giants. Reid and Patton finished with two RBI apiece in the game.

Wabash surrendered single runs in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings to face a 3-0 deficit heading into its final at-bat in game one. The first two Little Giant batters were retired before Reid started the comeback effort with a single to short. Patton followed with a blast to right field for his second home run of the season to make it a 3-2 ballgame. Oberlin recorded the final out of the game to claim the one-run victory and set up the two-game series split.

Reid and Earley collected two hits apiece for Wabash in game one. Patton had the only other hit for the Little Giants and produced the only two RBI.

Dylan Scheid took the loss for Wabash on the mound. He pitched 7-2/3 innings of five-hit baseball and gave up two earned runs with three walks and five strikeouts.
Jacob Cox recorded the final out for the Little Giants with a strikeout in his relief effort.

The Little Giants will complete the weekend road trip with two-game non-conference series at Anderson University on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m.
