CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA -- Wabash College held Mount St. Joseph scoreless and cruised to a 7-0 shutout victory Sunday at home at Fischer Field. The Little Giants honored their nine members of the senior class before the start of the match.
Wabash recognized seniors Michael Bertram, Eugene Bhattarai, Alexis Delgado, Jakob Faber, Austin Hughes, Coledon Johnson, Mitchell Keeling, Quinn Leous, and Peter McArdle for their four-year contributions to the program. The win boosted Wabash College's record to 3-0 overall.
How it Happened
The Little Giants got on the scoreboard first on McArdle's fifth-minute goal and led the rest of the game in the shutout. Caleb Castaño scored his second goal of the season in the 22nd minute. Bruno Zamora provided his second assist of the contest on a goal by Alexis Delgado in the 23rd minute. Zamora combined with Jose Escalante for assists on Castaño's earlier goal.

Wabash took advantage of two set pieces by scoring its fourth and fifth goals on corner kicks. Castaño connected with Andre Aguilera on a corner kick restart in the 32nd minute to put Wabash in front 4-0. Hugo Garcia gave Wabash a 5-0 lead by scoring his first goal of the season off a corner restart by Cameron McIntosh.

Angel Vazquez and Evan Miller scored second-half goals to make the final 7-0 score, giving the Little Giants their most goals in a game since a 7-0 win at MacMurray College in 2015.

Bertram scored his second victory of the season in goal for Wabash. He combined with Fernando Ramos, who played goalkeeper in the final 45 minutes of the second half, for the shutout victory.
