Wabash Suffers 2-0 Loss at Wittenberg

The Wabash College soccer team traveled to Springfield, Ohio, Tuesday evening, where the Little Giants lost a 2-0 decision to the Wittenberg University Tigers in North Coast Athletic Conference action.
 
Wabash (5-7-4, 1-5-1 NCAC) put up five shots on goal out of its six total shot attempts but proved unable to get anything past Wittenberg (7-4-4, 2-3-2 NCAC) goalkeeper Sam Nitzberg. Freshman Bryce Kinnaman paced the Little Giants' offensive attack with two shots on goal. Bruno Zamora, Collin Johnson, and Hayden Eaton each finished with one shot on goal.
 
Wittenberg took a 1-0 lead with a goal by Jack Pascoal in the 28th minute. The Tigers added a second score in the 51st minute on a penalty kick by Cameron Elliot.
 
Wabash attempted five corner kicks compared to three for the Tigers. Both teams were called for offsides on two occasions.
 
Wabash plays its final match of the 2023 season on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Oberlin College at Fischer Field.
