Wabash scored twice in the first period and added a third goal early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead over DePauw University in Wednesday's North Coast Athletic Conference men's soccer match played at Fischer Field. The Little Giants could not hold the lead as the visiting Tigers scored two late goals to play to a 3-3 draw.

Wabash (4-2-4, 0-0-1 NCAC) trailed as DePauw (4-4-2, 0-1-1 NCAC) scored in the 14
th minute. The Tigers' Joey Vehovsky collected a ball lifted over the Wabash defense and fired a shot into the back of the net to give DePauw the 1-0 lead.

The Little Giants found the equalizer in the 16
th minute when
Jackson Grabill delivered a pass through the DePauw defense to the feet of
Evan Miller. Miller took one dribble before blasting a shot to tie the match at 1-1 with his first goal of the season.

Wabash took a 2-1 lead when freshman
Bryce Kinnaman notched his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 29
th minute of the match. He took a pass on the left wing, dribbled past a pair of DePauw defenders, and beat the goalkeeper with the goal.

The Little Giants held the 2-1 lead at halftime before
Jose Escalante picked up his fifth goal of the season to tie Kinnaman for the team scoring lead. Miller brought the ball down the left side of the field before passing to Escalante near the top of the box. Escalante launched a curving shot into the bottom-right corner of the net to put Wabash in front 3-1 in the 59
th minute.

Wabash held the lead until the 74
th minute. DePauw's Quinn Flasphohler took a corner kick near the Wabash bench and lifted a pass in front of the Little Giants' goal. Alec McCarty raced in from the right side and delivered a header into the net to bring the Tigers to within a goal of Wabash. DePauw scored the equalizer less than four minutes later. Ethan Webster collected a loose ball, then turned and blasted a shot for his second goal of the season, tying the score at 3-3.

The Little Giants had one final opportunity to try and regain the lead.
Fernan Elizondo launched a left-footed shot from the top of the box in the match's closing minutes, but his attempt just sailed over the top of the bar to keep the match tied at 3-3.

Wabash doubled the shots on goal by DePauw with a 10-5 advantage. The Little Giants took 15 total shots in the match compared to 10 by the Tigers. Wabash goalkeeper
Fernando Ramos recorded two saves, one in each half. Both teams took three corner kicks. Wabash was called for the only offsides of the contest.

Wabash continues NCAC play on Saturday with a home match against Hiram College. Action at Fischer Field begins at noon after the Little Giants honor the senior members of the 2023 team before the start of the match.
