The Wabash College basketball team raced out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed in a Tuesday evening 63-46 road win at Earlham College.
Wabash (3-2) grabbed a season-high 49 rebounds in the victory, the most since a 55-rebound effort against Greenville College in 2019. The Little Giants snared 16 offensive boards that turned into 19 second-chance points. Wabash limited Earlham (0-5) to four offensive rebounds and two second-chance points for the game. The Quakers finished with 29 total rebounds.
Ahmoni Jones staked Wabash to its early lead by scoring five of the Little Giants' first seven points. He hit a three-pointer for the game's first basket and followed a
Sam Comer basket with a two-point jumper for the 7-0 advantage.
Edreece Redmond added a free throw, and
Gavin Schippert scored off a
Randy Kelley steal and assist to put Wabash in front 10-0.

Nate Matelic answered a basket by Earlham to extend the lead to 12 points at 14-2 with 13:39 left in the opening period. The Quakers' offense awoke over the next two minutes, riding an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 14-10. Comer ended the streak with two of his 16 points to push the lead back to six.
The Quakers got as close as four points on two separate occasions after Wabash pushed the lead to nine points. Earlham got a three-pointer from Aidan Temple with 1:46 left on the first-half clock. Neither team scored for the remainder of the period for a 27-23 Wabash halftime advantage.
Jones started the second half the same way he started the game, sandwiching two Earlham free throws with a pair of three-point baskets to stretch the Wabash lead to eight points. Schippert hit a three-pointer to push the Little Giants' advantage to double digits, where it remained for the rest of the contest.
Jones finished with a game-high 18 points. The senior also grabbed seven rebounds. Comer chipped in 16 points and snared eight boards.
Noah Hupmann led the Little Giants with 12 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass. Schippert grabbed nine boards.
Wabash shot 37.5 percent from the field, hitting 24 of 64 attempts. The Little Giants made 8 of 28 three-point tries for 28.6 percent and finished 7-of-11 from the free throw line for 63.6 percent. Earlham shot 16 of 53 overall (30.2 percent) and made 5 of 13 three-point attempts. Ken Walker led the Quakers with 15 points. Kendall Cave scored ten points.
The Little Giants return to action after Thanksgiving with a home contest Sunday evening against Rose-Hulman. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
