The Wabash College lacrosse team wrapped up its 2023 spring break trip with a Friday afternoon game at NCAA Division I Hampton University. The Little Giants fell to the host Pirates 16-4.
Wabash (5-2) answered a 9-0 run by the HBCU scholarship program with a second-period goal from
Quinn Fitzgerald. The freshman added a man-up goal in the fourth period after
Jake Pippen scored the Little Giants' second goal in the third period.
Ethan Stonis added the last goal in the closing minute of the match for the 16-4 final.

Artie Rogers, and
Sam Santiago all recorded assists on goals for Wabash. Hampton outshot the Little Giants 51-20 and put 33 shots on goal compared to 16 by Wabash. Little Giant goalkeeper
Braeden Cooper made 17 saves. Wabash finished 1-of-8 in extra-man opportunities. The Pirates scored on 2-of-5 man-up chances.

Josh Taylor each scooped up two ground balls in the game. Cunningham led the Little Giants with two caused turnovers.
Wabash finished its spring break trip with a 2-1 record and recorded a season-best fifth win, the most victories in a season since the start of the varsity program in 2015.Â
The Little Giants play their final non-conference game on Saturday, March 18, at noon at Hanover College.Â
