The Wabash College tennis team swept Roosevelt University in dual-meet action in Chicago Saturday evening, scoring a 7-0 victory over the host Lakers.

Wabash improved to 9-4 overall with the victory. The Little Giants opened the competition by winning two doubles matches.
Alvaro Alonso-Sanchez and
Augusto Ghidini combined for a 6-1 victory at number one doubles.
Tharakesh Ashokar and
Cole Borden scored a 6-2 win at number two doubles.
Ethan Koeneman and
Cole Shifferly received a forfeit in the third doubles flight.

Alvaro-Sanchez played to a three-set win at number singles. He scored a 6-3 win in the first set before a 7-6 loss in the second forced a deciding set. The Wabash senior won with a 10-6 score in the final set.

Shifferly picked up a 6-0, 6-0 shutout in the second singles flight. Ashokar narrowly missed a shutout win at third singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Koeneman earned a three-set win at number four singles. He lost the opening set 7-6 before rallying for victories in the final sets by scores of 7-6 and 10-4.
Christan Zimmerman and
Eduardo Wernecki received forfeits at fifth and sixth singles.

Wabash heads to Ohio next weekend for North Coast Athletic Conference matches at Wooster and Oberlin.
