The Wabash College tennis team wrapped up a week-long spring break trip to Orlando, Florida, with a 5-4 victory over Hampden-Sydney College in the Gentlemen's Cup clash between the two all-male institutions.
The Little Giants (7-4) trailed the Tigers from Virginia (5-6) after the three doubles matches 2-1. Wabash captured its only point at number three doubles with an 8-4 victory by
Ethan Koeneman and
Cole Shifferly.
Wabash won four singles matches, beginning with a 6-1, 6-2 victory by
Cole Borden at number three singles.
Augusto Ghidini won in straight sets by scores of 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.
Tharakesh Ashokar won his fifth singles flight 6-4, 6-2.
Liam Grennon closed out the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at number six singles to earn the final team point for the Little Giants.
Wabash finished the week with a 3-1 record, recording wins over St. Thomas (FL), Immaculata, and Hampden-Sydney.Â
