Stonis, Fitzgerald Tally Goals In Loss At DePauw

Cunningham Gives Out Two Assists

Ethan Stonis scored four goals, and Quinn Fitzgerald added a fifth in the Wabash College lacrosse team's 15-5 North Coast Athletic Conference loss at DePauw University Tuesday evening.
 
Wabash (7-4, 1-2 NCAC) trailed 4-0 until Stonis tallied his first goal off an assist by Lucas Cunningham. Fitzgerald added a power-play goal late in the second period, with Artie Rogers providing the assist for a 7-2 lead by DePauw (6-5, 1-2 NCAC) at halftime.
 
Stonis picked up an unassisted goal in the third period before scoring twice in the fourth on assists from Sam Santiago and Cunningham.
 
Wabash put up 29 shots with 15 shots on goal compared to 48 shots and 27 shots on goal by the host Tigers. The Little Giants finished 1-of-5 on extra-man opportunities.
 
Luka DiFilippo won 11-of-24 faceoffs for Wabash and snared a team-best seven ground balls. Fitzgerald picked up six ground balls for the Little Giants. Cunningham recorded three caused turnovers in addition to his two assists. Braeden Cooper made 12 saves in the game for the Little Giants.
 
Wabash travels to Wooster, Ohio, on Saturday to play the College of Wooster at 7 p.m. Due to construction at the Scots' regular facility, the game will be played at Wooster High School.
