Two first-period goals led the Wabash College soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Birmingham-Southern College Sunday afternoon at the Berry College Soccer Invitational.

Freshman
Bryce Kinnaman started the scoring for Wabash (2-0-2) with his second goal of the season in the 15
th minute to put the Little Giants in front 1-0.
Jose Escalante scored his team-high fourth goal of the year ten minutes later to put Wabash up 2-0.

Birmingham-Southern (2-1-1) answered with a goal from Gage Estep in the 39
th minute to trim the Little Giants' lead to 2-1 at halftime.
Jesse Martinez provided a two-goal advantage with his second scoring strike of the season in the 55
th minute. His goal gave Wabash the one-point edge after Vittoria Vopicelli tallied his third goal of the season for the Panthers in the 70th minute.

Wabash produced eight total shots and six shots on goal, led by two shots on goal by
Alfredo Campos. Birmingham-Southern finished with eight total shots and two shots on goal. Both teams took three corner kicks. The Panthers were whistled for the game's only offsides call.

Wabash opens the home portion of the 2023 season on Tuesday with a home match against Anderson University at 4 p.m. at Fischer Field.
