A pair of goals from freshman Bryce Kinnaman and a third from Jesse Martinez led the Wabash College soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Anderson University Tuesday afternoon in the Little Giants' 2023 home opener at Fischer Field.
 
Wabash (3-0-2) played the visiting Ravens (4-2) to a 0-0 draw in the first 45 minutes. The Little Giants put two shots on goal from Jose Escalante that Anderson goalkeeper Josh Brown turned away. Kinnaman broke the scoreless tie with his third goal of the season in the 55^th minute. Martinez sent a pass to Bruno Zamora, who found Kinnaman on the right wing. Kinnaman drove the shot attempt into the net to give Wabash a 1-0 lead.
 
Kinnaman scored a second goal five minutes later. Martinez delivered a crossing pass from the left side of the field to the freshman, who produced another goal from the right side for his fourth goal of the year.
 
Anderson responded with a goal from Owen Kirk in the 70^th minute to cut the Wabash lead to 2-1. Martinez scored an unassisted goal in the 74^th minute. He picked up a loose ball in front of the Anderson net to score his third goal of the season.
 
Wabash outshot Anderson 13-12 and put six shots on goal compared to three for the Ravens. The Little Giants took five corner kicks while Anderson attempted four corners. Wabash received four offside calls.
 
Fernando Ramos made two saves while picking up his third victory of the season in goal for Wabash.
 
The Little Giants return to action on Monday, September 18, with a 5 p.m. match at Hanover College.
