Wabash got an early goal from Jesse Martinez and added a late goal from Ben Wallace to earn a 2-0 home win over Adrian College in the Little Giants' final non-conference match of the 2023 season.
 
Martinez scored his fourth goal of the season after collecting a shot by Jose Escalante that glanced off the right post. Martinez buried the rebound into the net in the third minute of the match to put Wabash (4-2-3) in front 1-0.
 
The match remained a one-goal contest until the 81^st minute of the game. Luis Martinez drove the ball down the left side of the pitch before connecting with Myle Bernat in the center with a pass. Bernat flicked the extra pass to Wallace on the right side, and the junior buried the shot into the goal for his first of the season and second of his career.
 
Wabash outshot Adrian (1-6-2) 21-8 and put nine shots on goal compared to four for the Bulldogs. Both teams were whistled for five offside calls. Wabash took seven corner kicks, while Adrian finished with two corners. Little Giant goalkeeper Fernando Ramos recorded his second shutout win of the season and finished with four saves for the afternoon.
 
Wabash opens North Coast Athletic Conference play Wednesday with a home match against DePauw University. The game begins at 4 p.m. at Fischer Field.
