The Wabash swimming and diving team needed a first- and third-place finish in Saturday's final relay to secure a double-dual meet sweep over Centre College and Albion College. The Little Giants got just that to earn a 151 to 148 win over Centre and a 236 to 58 victory against Albion to begin the home portion of the 2024-25 season.

The Wabash quartet of
Ethan Johns,
Quinn Sweeney,
Daniel Streeter, and
Connor Craig scored the necessary win in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a first-place combined time of 1:28.02.
John Allen, Nicholas Hakimian,
Grayson Goff, and
Brock Schall locked up the team victory by finishing in third place with a time of 1:30.44, finishing 12/100
th of a second ahead of Centre's "B" team at 1:30.56.

Wabash won both relays, starting the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
Ryan West,
Justice Wenz,
Brody Page, and Craig combined to finish in 1:40.28. Nicolas Plumb,
Barret Smith, Johns, and Hakimian scored a third-place finish with a combined time of 1:42.75.

Sweeney scored an individual victory in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall for the final time in 1:46.46. Streeter finished in third place with a time of 1:50.20. Sweeney added another victory in the 200 butterfly by turning in a winning time of 2:00.33. Plumb placed second by finishing in 2:04.26.

Johns won the 100-yard freestyle by touching the wall in 48.44. Streeter finished in 50.64 to earn fifth place.

West captured the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke. The freshman posted a winning time of 1:54.88. Plumb finished second (1:58.59), and Nick Sommers took fourth place (2:06.03). West added another win in the 200-yard individual medley with a top time of 1:59.86.

Page won the 100 butterfly with his 52.81 finish. Sweeney placed second with a time of 53.09. Craig scored a fifth-place finish with a time of 55.93.

Freshman
Mason Gilliam earned a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle by posting a time of 10:11.09.
Xander Straw finished third with a time of 10:38.92. Will Renie added a fifth-place finish (10:54.07). Gilliam took second place in the 500 freestyle (4:59.66), with Straw grabbing third place (5:00.33).

West took second place in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 54.15. Sommers added a third-place finish with a time of 54.97.

Craig finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.37. Johns added a third-place finish with a time of 22.53.

Wenz picked up a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke by posting a time of 1:04.19.
Dane Market scored a fifth-place finish at 1:05.63. Wenz also finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.96). Market finished in fifth place (2:23.63).

Wabash competes at the Western Michigan Invite next Friday and Saturday. Friday's competition takes place at Hope College, while Saturday's competition will be held at Kalamazoo College.
