Wabash Takes Weekend Series From Hanover With 6-5 Sunday Victory

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN -- Wabash took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 6-5 win over the Hanover College Panthers on Sunday. The win gave the Little Giants a 2-1 edge in the three-game weekend series.

Jackson Woehr (2-0) got the win out of the bullpen for Wabash. The right-hander went 1.1 shutout innings without giving up a hit, one walk, and striking out one. Grant Stratton started the ballgame and went three shutout innings, allowing two hits, walking none, and striking out two. Wabash kept Hanover without a run before building their lead to 5-0 in the seventh inning on a Reid solo home run.

The Panthers then evened up the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning before Wabash fought back to retake the lead. Benjamin Henke crossed home plate with the go-ahead run on a groundout by Caleb Ellspermann.
