The Wabash College tennis team improved to 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference matches after securing a 5-4 win over Oberlin College Sunday afternoon at the Collett Tennis Center.

Wabash (10-6, 2-0 NCAC) opened the day with two doubles victories.
Augusto Ghidini and
Cole Shifferly earned an 8-6 win in the first doubles flight.
Tharakesh Ashokar and
Rafael Rin added an 8-4 victory in the third doubles flight.

Shifferly tied the match at 3-3 with a three-set victory at number one singles after Oberlin (5-8, 0-2 NCAC) scored victories in two singles matches. Shifferly rallied from a 2-6 deficit in the first set with a 6-3 win in the second set, followed by a 6-4 win in the third. Ashokar picked up a pair of back-to-back 6-2 wins in his number four singles contest.
Vittorio Bona closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at number six singles.

Wabash continues its NCAC schedule against arch-rival DePauw University. The two teams meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Greencastle, Indiana.
