AJ Reid highlighted a quintet of Wabash College selections to the 2024 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Team, announced on Thursday. Reid earned the first-ever NCAC Gold Glove Award as the top defensive player as voted by the conference coaches. Reid joined fellow Little Giants

Reid became the NCAC's first Gold Glove recipient after recording 49 putouts and 94 assists while starting all 40 games at third base for Wabash. He held down the hot corner with a .941 fielding percentage, committing nine errors in 152 total chances. Reid was part of 11 double plays to help Wabash tie the single-season mark for double plays turned with 38. He started the Little Giants' second triple play in program history with a ground ball by Hanover for a 5-4-3-2 to turn three on the play.

Reid earned First Team All-NCAC honors for the third consecutive season. The senior third baseman broke the Wabash career hits record with 210 over his four-year stint with the Little Giants. Reid hit a career-best .407 as a senior, collecting 59 hits in 145 at-bats. He drove in 44 runs with 13 doubles, seven triples, and a team-best six home runs. His seven triples ranked fifth among Division III players in 2024.

Reid led the conference and ranked 32nd among NCAA DIII players with an on-base percentage of .525 with 27 walks and being hit by pitches 18 times. He produced eight sacrifice flies to break the Wabash single-season record while finishing second in the conference and 11th in the nation. His 18 times hit by a pitch tied his own school record set last season. Reid ended his career in the top ten in 20 different offensive categories in the Wabash career record book and four single-season records for the Little Giants. He also became the first player in the 158-year history of Wabash baseball to hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple, and home run against Hiram on April 13.

Scheidt earned Second Team All-NCAC honors after securing a Third Team selection in 2023. The junior outfielder and first baseman tied for the most triples in Division III with a school-record ten three-baggers in 2024. He is tied with Reid on the Wabash career records list with 16 career triples, one shy of the school record of 17 held by Jared Wolfe '19. Scheidt ranked second in the conference and 32nd in DIII in runs scored with 54, the most in a single season by a Wabash baseball player. Scheidt hit .355 for the season with 61 hits in 172 at-bats over 40 games. He collected 15 doubles and two home runs to go with his ten triples and drove in 46 runs, sixth-most by a conference player this season. Scheidt picked up 22 walks and was hit three times for a .428 on-base percentage. His 102 total bases rank fifth in Wabash single-season history and fifth among NCAC players in 2024. Â

Galanos received all-conference honors for the first time in his career with a 2024 Third Team selection. The junior second baseman was part of 31 double plays for the second-most turned by an individual player in Wabash history. He helped the Little Giants tie for the most double plays with 38 in 2024 and was part of the second triple play turned in Little Giants' history. At the plate, Galanos delivered 44 hits in 145 at-bats for a .303 batting average in 40 games played. He finished the season with four doubles and 15 RBI, along with 15 walks and 13 times hit by pitches for a .416 on-base percentage. Galanos broke the Wabash single-game record when he was hit four times in a game against Ohio Wesleyan on April 30.

Everson and Haslett represented the Wabash pitching staff as Third Team All-NCAC selections. Everson led the Little Giants with six wins as a starter, finishing 6-2 for the season with a 5.23 earned run average in 11 starts. The sophomore right-hander pitched 62 innings, allowing 83 hits and 17 walks while striking out a team-best 68 batters. Everson was part of Wabash's lone shutout of the season, an 11-0 win at Anderson.

Haslett posted a 2-2 record as a sophomore reliever for the Little Giants in 2024. He appeared in 15 games and posted a team-best four saves. Haslett pitched 39.2 innings and allowed 13 earned runs with 35 hits and 18 walks. He struck out 27 batters and limited opposing hitters to a .243 batting average. Haslett closed out the shutout win at Anderson by recording two strikeouts of the three batters he faced in the final inning.

Wabash finished the 2024 season with a 22-18 record for the seventh winning season out of the past eight years. The Little Giants tied for fourth place in the final NCAC standings with an 8-8 record in conference games. Â
