ELSAH, IL -- Sophomore midfielder Alfredo Campos scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of Monday evening's match between Wabash and Principia to give the visiting Little Giants a 2-1 victory to begin the 2024 men's soccer season.
How it Happened
Wabash (1-0) opened the scoring when Jose Escalante scored his first goal of the season on a header into the upper-right corner of the net in the second minute, assisted by Bryce Kinnaman and Bruno Zamora.
Principia (0-2) leveled the match on a goal from Effenberg Joya in the 75th minute, assisted by Oscar Carpio.
Wabash then busted up the 1-1 draw on Campos' game winner in the 88th-minute goal, his first of the season.
