Greencastle, Ind. – The Wabash College swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2025 portion of its season schedule on Friday night with a dual-meet competition at DePauw University. The Little Giants scored 16 top-three finishes but came out on the short end of a 193 to 106 final score.
Wabash captured five individual victories.
Mason Gilliam picked up a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a winning time of 10:02.48. He added another first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle by touching a final time of 4:50.46.
Ryan West won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.85. Teammate
Zach Baty placed third by finishing in 56.08. West also won the 200-yard individual medley by posting a time of 1:59.17.
Nicholas Plumb completed the 200-yard backstroke in 1:59.06 to add another victory to the Little Giants' totals. West finished second with a time of 2:01.61 while Baty finished in third place at 2:02.98. Plumb added a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.09.
Quinn Sweeney took second place in the 200-yard freestyle by turning in a time of 1:48.10.
Lew Sams scored a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.11. Sams also placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke with his time of 2:12.75. Sweeney finished the 100-yard freestyle in 48.26 to capture third place overall.
West, Sams, Sweeney, and
John Allen combined to finish third in the opening relay of the night, the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet posted a time of 1:37.34.
Michael Cruzado scored 140.45 points on the one-meter diving board to earn a third-place finish.
Liam Fuller scored a third-place finish on the three-meter board with a score of 136.60.
Wabash returns to action in January with a meet at Franklin College.
