CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana --- The Wabash College volleyball team played for match point at 14-11 in the fifth set against Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League leading Mount Union Saturday afternoon. The Little Giants could not put the final point away, losing the tiebreaker 17-15 in a 3-2 overall loss to the Purple Raiders at Chadwick Court.

Wabash (14-9, 2-3 MCVL) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to force a fifth-set tiebreaker. The Little Giants lost the opening set 25-16 before taking a 25-22 victory in the second. Mount Union (17-8, 7-0 MCVL) won set three 25-23 before the Little Giants claimed a 28-26 win in the fourth set.

Wabash held the lead for most of the fifth set, eventually taking the 14-11 lead. The Purple Raiders scored three consecutive points to even the score at 14-14. The Little Giants lost a fourth point to give Mount Union match point at 15-14 but tied the score on a kill by
Bawibawi Thang. The Purple Raiders scored the final two-point to secure the two-point victory in the set and the 3-2 overall win.

Thang recorded 30 kills to lead Wabash on offense.
Patrick Volk added 13 kills.
Will Beikes finished with 52 assists and a .416 set percentage on 125 total attempts.
Piotr Wolan scored 13 digs to pace the Little Giants on defense.
Shad Wilson picked up two solo blocks and one block assist.

Wabash faces Baldwin Wallace in MCVL action on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Chadwick Court.
