CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana --- Wabash saw its eight-game winning streak end Tuesday evening with a 5-3 loss to Greenville University in a non-conference contest at Goodrich Ballpark. The Little Giants held a one-run lead entering the eighth inning but gave up two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth.

Wabash (20-8) put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning.
Caleb Ellspermann drilled a one-out triple to right and came across to score the lone run of the inning for Wabash on a sacrifice fly by
Will Phillips.

The Little Giants held the Panthers scoreless before getting back on the board the next inning.
Ben Henke led off the fourth inning with a double, stole third, and scored on a single by
Will McKinzie to give the Little Giants lead to 2-0.
Greenville (12-19) narrowed Wabash's lead to 2-1 before the Little Giants stretched the advantage to 3-1 in the fifth inning. Wabash plated a run after
Michael Galanos singled, moved to second on a bad pickoff throw to first, moved to third on a single by Ellspermann, and raced home on a successful pick of Ellspermann at first. The Little Giants could not hold the lead, as Greenville scored four times over the remaining four innings to grab the 5-3 win.

Braeden Bryant (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Wabash (20-8).
Ethan Kimmerle started the ballgame and went 4.1 innings, surrendering one run on five hits, walking one, and striking out four.

Ellspermann went 3-for-4 on the day with a triple. Galanos also put together a noteworthy performance at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a walk. McKinzie also contributed for Wabash, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
