Three Wabash College tennis team members were selected to the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Team, announced Thursday afternoon. Junior
Cole Shifferly was named to the Second Team in singles play, with sophomore
Rafael Rin earning Third Team honors as a singles player. Rin and his playing partner, junior
Augusto Ghidini, received Third Team honors as a doubles team.
Â
Shifferly became a three-time all-conference honoree after earning Second Team singles honors in 2023 and 2024. He finished with nine wins at number one singles for the season, including two wins in conference contests against Ohio Wesleyan and Wittenberg. Shifferly took a straight-sets 6-2, 6-3 victory over fellow Second Team All-NCAC selection Shawn Lisann from Oberlin in the opening round of the conference tournament. He posted an overall record of 13-11 for the season.
Â
Rin earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He split time between number one and two singles to finish 14-4 in dual meets. Rin was 4-2 in conference matches, including a three-set win at number one singles against Wooster. He posted wins at number two singles over fellow Third Team selections Scott Anderson from DePauw and Zain Makada from Oberlin, then scored a two-set victory over Makada in the conference tournament.
Â
Rin and Ghidini, who was part of a First Team all-conference partnership with Shifferly in 2024, combined to earn five victories, including three conference wins, at number-one doubles for the Little Giants. Rin and Ghidini scored conference wins over Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wittenberg, then picked up a 6-1 victory against the Second Team All-NCAC pairing of Brady Huggett and Shawn Lisann from Oberlin in the first round of the conference tournament.
