CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Bryce Kinnaman scored his sixth goal of the season in the 81st minute Saturday to help Wabash rally for a 1-1 draw against Augustana College at Fischer Field.
Kinnaman converted a pass from Brady Reiter at 80:11 to erase a 1-0 deficit and give the Little Giants their first tie of the season. Kinnaman's sixth goal surpassed his previous single-season career high of five, set in both 2023 and 2025. He has scored in each of Wabash's last two matches.
Wabash (7-1-1) finished with an 18-13 advantage in total shots and generated 10 attempts in the second half. The Little Giants put eight shots on goal while goalkeeper Rafael Cordova made a season-high six saves.
The teams played through a scoreless opening half despite chances at both ends. Wabash earned five corner kicks and attempted eight shots over the first 45 minutes. Reiter put an early attempt on goal before Kinnaman, Alex Burke, Darinel Maus and Johan Arroyo added scoring opportunities.
Cordova kept Augustana off the scoreboard with five first-half saves, including three stops during an eight-minute stretch midway through the period. Wabash nearly broke through late in the half when Kinnaman and Maus each put shots on goal, but the match remained scoreless at halftime.
The Little Giants immediately applied pressure after the break. Kinnaman hit the left post at 47:12 and produced two more shots over the next 10 minutes, while Alfredo Campos also added an attempt.
Augustana broke the scoreless tie at 60:33 when Salvador Gil Colmenero scored to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Matt Donaghey and Caleb Kale were credited with assists.
Wabash continued to push forward, earning three corner kicks in a span of less than three minutes before finding the equalizer. Reiter set up Kinnaman for the tying goal at 80:11, giving Reiter his first assist of the season.
The Little Giants continued searching for the winning goal over the final nine minutes. Burke, Ethan Simmons, Kinnaman and Danny Tkachuk each attempted shots after the equalizer, while Cordova stopped Augustana's final shot on goal in the 88th minute to preserve the draw.
Kinnaman led Wabash with seven shots, including three on goal. Cordova played all 90 minutes and finished with six saves.
Augustana goalkeeper Elias Banke recorded five saves in 90 minutes.
Wabash returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 23, when the Little Giants travel to Cincinnati to face Mount St. Joseph University at 7 p.m.
