Tennis Takes DI Saint Joseph's To The Wire

Wade Miller moved into a tie for fifth in career doubles victories after recording his 58th victory against Saint Joseph's University.

The Wabash tennis team nearly pulled off an upset in its match against NCAA Division I opponent Saint Joseph's University, eventually losing 5-4.

Wade Miller and Michael Makio combined for an 8-4 victory at number one doubles. The victory moved Miller into a tie for fifth place in career doubles victories with 58, matching the total posted by Dan Altman from 1998-2002.

The Little Giants took a 2-1 lead thanks to an 8-4 victory at number three doubles by Nate Koelper and Mazin Hakim.

The Hawks rallied for wins in the first four singles flights to earn the team victory. Graham McMullen scored a three-set win (3-6, 7-5, 10-6) at number five singles. Hakim scored an individual victory in the sixth singles flight in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).

Wabash (5-10) completes its spring break trip to Puerto Rico Wednesday with a match against Augustana College of South Dakota.
