Tennis Dominates Wittenberg in 9-0 Road Win

Wabash tennis had little trouble earning a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division road win Saturday, defeating Wittenberg Saturday morning 9-0 in Springfield, Ohio.

The Little Giants (9-13, 1-2 NCAC West) opened with three doubles victories. William Reifeis and Patrick McAuley combined for an 8-2 win in the first flight. Michael Makio and Jordan Greenwell won 8-3 at number two doubles. Andrew Denning and Mazin Hakim picked up an 8-2 victory in the third doubles flight.

Reifeis started a streak of straight-sets victories in singles play with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory at number one singles. Makio scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory at second singles. Greenwell added a 7-5, 6-2 win in the third singles flight. McAuley was one game away from a sweep at number four singles, winning 6-1, 6-0. Kirill Ivashchenko picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory at number five singles. Nicholas Pollock completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number six singles.

Wabash will complete the regular season portion of its schedule next weekend with home contests against Ohio Wesleyan and the College of Wooster.
