Wabash won an individual title as part of 21 top-eight places at the 2021 Indiana Little State Wrestling Tournament held Saturday in the Knowling Fieldhouse.

Maxwell Bishop won the 285-pound weight class with a spotless 4-0 record for the day. He received a medical forfeit in his opening round bout before defeating Braydon Erb from Indiana Tech 3-0 in the quarterfinals. Bishops scored a 12-0 major decision against Jamie Kilmer from West Liberty in the semis before defeating Vernon Wilis in the championship bout to claim the title. Teammate
Colin Baker added a fifth-place finish in the heavyweight bracket. Baker picked up four victories including three straight wins to start the tournament. He pinned Austin Lane from Marian University in the first round (2:24) followed by a pair of decisions in the next two rounds.

Three Little Giants captured top-eight spots at 184 pounds.
Chase Baczek placed second overall in the bracket. He opened the tournament with a 15-0 tech fall against David Gilbert from Thomas More, then picked up a pin against teammate
Trescott Duffy in the opening minute of their second-round bout. Baczek earned a 12-1 major decision in the semifinals.
Teo Palubinskas finished in fifth place at 184 pounds with three wins for the tournament. He scored a 10-0 major decision against Jacob Saylor from Indiana Tech and pinned Matt Morris from Ancilla at the 2:44 mark of their finals bout in the weight class. Duffy placed eighth overall in the bracket with a pair of victories, including a pin of Alex Searfoss from Manchester in their consolation round bout.

Wabash earned two top-three finishes in the 174-pound bracket.
Ray Arebalo won his first two matches with a 17-2 tech fall against Griffin Bekish from Indiana Tech and a 20-7 major decision versus Andrew Taylor from Thomas More. Arebalo placed second overall after a tough 6-4 overtime loss in sudden victory against Andrew Sams from the University of Indianapolis.
Bradley Harrington finished in third place for the Little Giants at 174 pounds. He scored three victories for the tournament, beginning with a pin at 1:57 in his opening match against Trevor Stuyvenberg from Indiana Tech. Harrington advance to the finals with a 19-7 major decision over Bekish before receiving a forfeit in the third-place bout.

Alex Barr scored a second-place finish in the 149-pound weight class. He pinned Julian Johnson from Marian University in 2:18 after winning 7-4 in his first bout of the tournament. Barr scored a 16-0 technical fall against Rusty Craddock from Thomas More in the quarterfinals and advanced to the finals after pinning Jackson Hoover from the University of Indianapolis in 4:36.

Gavinn Alstott captured third place in the 141-pound weight class bracket. He earned three victories in the tournament, winning the third-place match by a score of 11-5 against Hunter Cottingham from the University of Indianapolis. Alstott won 10-2 with a major decision in his consolation semifinal bout against teammate
TJ Driessens. Driessens placed fifth at 141 pounds. He scored four wins, including a pin of Nelson Roberts from Ancilla in 2:15 of their opening round bout. Dreissens added a 12-10 sudden victory win against Aundre Beatty from Marian University and a 3-2 win in the consolation bracket.
Andrew Sinkovics scored three wins at 141 pounds to finish in seventh place. Sinkovics pinned Samuel Slivka from the University of Indianapolis 2:39 Â into their opening round bout. Sinkovics pinned Jordan Hoselton from Thomas More at the 3:37 mark of their consolation second-round match and won by a 13-8 score against Marian University's Jesus Mancera in the seventh-place finals bout.

Blake McGee placed fourth at 133 pounds with a record 2-2 for the day. He picked up an 11-3 major decision in the quarterfinal round against Trey McCartney from Marian University.
Rodney Hendricks added an eighth-place finish in the 133-pound bracket. Hendricks scored a pair of wins with a 13-2 major decision in his opening bout of the day along with a pin against Trey Brown from Ancilla at the 1:50 mark of their consolation round match.

Tyson Nisley added a fifth-place finish at 157 pounds with three wins for the day. He scored a tech fall with a 16-0 win against Noah Baker from Marian University Nisley earned a 5-3 victory over teammate
Evan Burge in the finals to capture the fifth-place title. Burge took sixth place with two wins in the bracket, including a 16-0 tech fall in the second round.
Mawuli Nevis placed eighth in the 157-pound bracket. He scored a pair of wins by decision in the consolation bracket to earn a place in the championship round.

Grant Johnson placed fifth in the 197-pound bracket of the tournament. He earned four wins overall including pins against Levi Lee from Manchester (3:48) and Robby Gentry from Marian (0:58).
Jack Heldt finished sixth in the weight class with two wins that featured a pin at 2:33 of his bout against Gentry.
Matt Lepper finished in seventh place with three wins in the tournament. One win came with a pin against Ian Daugherty from Thomas More (5:35).

Brady Ester captured seventh place in the 125-pound weight class. He finished 3-2 with one pin for the tournament.
Eero Gross finished eighth in the 165-pound bracket with two victories for the day, including a pin of Brett Goff from West Liberty just 33 seconds into their second-round match.

Wabash will compete at two separate events next weekend. The Little Giants will travel to Iowa to wrestle in the University of Dubuque Duals while another group heads to Naperville, Illinois for the North Central College Invitational.
