Golfers Place Seventh At Belterra

Wabash played in the Battle at Belterra to open the 2021-2022 golf season. The Little Giants finished seventh out of 14 teams at the two-day tournament.
 
Sophomores Mark Poole and  Brayden Weiss tied for 12th place in the individual standings. Both players carded an 83 in the opening round on Sunday and finished with a pair of 73's Monday for a 36-hole total of 151. Freshman Matthew Lesniak placed 41st out of a field of 74 players with a two-round score of 160 (78-82). Tim Neu tied for 46th place with a score of 163 (82-81). Conner Taylor carded a two-day score of 168 (85-83) to tie for 54th place.
 
Wabash finished with a team score of 625 over both days of the tournament played at the Belterra Resort. The Little Giants shot a 316 on Sunday then improved by seven strokes Monday with a score of 309. Wittenberg won the team competition with a total of 576 strokes.
 
The Little Giants will serve as hosts for the Wabash Invitational October 4-5 to be played at the Broodmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
