WARREN, Ohio — Charlie Seaburg opened the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship with the low round for Wabash College on Friday, helping the Little Giants finish fifth after the first 18 holes at Avalon Lakes Golf Club.
Wabash shot a 316 in the first round to finish the day at 28-over par. John Carroll grabbed the opening-round lead with an 11-over 299, followed by DePauw in second place at 303. Kenyon ended the first round in third place at 309, with Wittenberg fourth at 314. Wabash finished two strokes behind Wittenberg and two shots ahead of Ohio Wesleyan, which placed sixth at 318. Wooster shot 321 to finish seventh, while Denison closed the day in eighth place at 324.
Seaburg finished the first round tied for eighth place individually with a 5-over 77. He opened with a 2-over 38 on the front nine and added a 3-over 39 on the back nine. Seaburg recorded both of his birdies on par-3 holes, scoring 2s on the 169-yard fourth hole and the 186-yard 12th hole. He added 10 pars in his opening round.
Leo Dellinger finished tied for 19th place after shooting a 7-over 79. Dellinger posted a 3-over 39 on the front nine and a 4-over 40 on the back nine. He birdied the par-3 fourth hole and added nine pars.
Finn Carteaux and Mason Pierle each finished tied for 24th place with 8-over rounds of 80. Carteaux rebounded from a 6-over 42 on the front nine with a 2-over 38 on the back nine, the best nine-hole score by a Wabash player in the round. Carteaux birdied the par-5 11th hole and closed his round with eight pars.
Pierle shot a 5-over 41 on the front nine before carding a 3-over 39 on the back nine. He finished with eight pars in the round.
Liam McAllister completed the Wabash lineup with a 10-over 82 to finish tied for 31st place. McAllister shot 41 on both the front and back nine and birdied the par-5 14th hole.
Justy VonLehmden of John Carroll and Andrew Wall of DePauw share the individual lead after opening rounds of 1-under 71. John Carroll's Wade Boyle is third at even-par 72, with DePauw's William Davis fourth at 1-over 73.
The second round begins Saturday at 8 a.m. The championship is scheduled to conclude with the third round Sunday.
