Jack Heldt picked up three pins on his way to an individual victory at Saturday's Concordia Open wrestling tournament in Mequon, Wisconsin. Seven Little Giant wrestlers picked up top-five finishes at the tournament, led by Heldt's title run at the non-team scoring event.

Heldt opened the tournament with a pin of Roberto Pena from Elmhurst 3:34 into their heavyweight bout. Heldt scored a 10-0 major decision in the quarterfinals over Gunnar Garriques from the University of Chicago before pinning Damari Dancy from Wartburg at the 2:20 mark of their semifinal match. Heldt claimed the heavyweight championship with a pin at 2:39 of Chicago's Cole Fibranz.

James Day added a third-place finish at 125 pounds by picking up four wins. He opened with a 6-4 decision over Christian Guzman from North Central College, then rallied after a loss in the quarterfinal round. Day earned three consecutive wins capped by a 9-0 major decision in the finals to capture third place in the bracket.

Blake McGee finished third at 133 pounds with a 5-1 record for the tournament. He scored two early tech falls by scores of 17-1 and 16-0 before closing out the match with a 6-2 decision in the semifinals and a one-point 3-2 victory in the finals against Dominik Mallinder from Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Timothy Smith took third place at 157 pounds by starting the tournament with a pin of Jason Eismueller from Carthage at the 2:23 mark of their opening match. Smith picked up a 16-1 tech fall in the next round, then scored three consecutive wins after a quarterfinal loss. His final victory came in a 1-0 decision over Jason Smith from Stevens Institute of Technology to claim third place.
Tyson Nisley earned a fifth-place finish at 157 pounds with a 4-2 record for the day. He scored a pin at 1:36 in his opening-round bout against Lukasz Wesolowski, followed by a 13-7 decision in the second round. An 11-7 win in the quarterfinal came before a loss in the semis. Nisley responded with back-to-back wins, including a pin in the closing minute of the finals against Daniel Meeker from Loras, to claim fifth place.

Evan Burge finished 5-1 for the day to claim fourth place at 141 pounds. Burge won a 14-10 decision in the opening round and scored an 18-0 tech fall before losing in the quarterfinals. He won two consecutive matches in the consolation bracket before a one-point 10-9 loss in the finals.

Ray Arebalo captured fourth place at 174 pounds. He recorded a 16-0 tech fall against George Pavlenko from Elmhurst to start the day, then scored two more victories in the second round and quarterfinals. Arebalo came back to win a 6-4 decision in the consolation semifinals before retiring from the tournament due to an injury.
