The Wabash College wrestling team dominated Saturday's 2022 Mid-State Wrestling Tournament as the Little Giants won seven of the ten weight classes and placed 22 wrestlers overall.

Wabash won the team competition with a total of 193 points. The host Ohio Northern University squad placed second in the eight-team tournament with a total of 99.5 points.

Blake McGee,
TJ Driessens,
Tyson Nisley,
Ray Arebalo,
Chase Baczek, and
Jack Heldt each captured individual titles in their respective weight classes.

Champagne captured the 125-pound title.
Reece Chapman placed second in the weight class.
Ethan Bednarczyk finished in third place, with
Jaden Bird finishing fourth and
Brady Ester taking sixth place.

McGee finished the day with a 3-0 record including a 9-0 major decision to win the 133-pound bracket.

Driessens went 4-0 for the tournament with all four victories coming by pins to take first place at 149 pounds.
Joey Miller placed fourth in the weight class by also posting four wins on the day.

Nisley won the 157-pound weight class title with a perfect 4-0 record overall. He scored two tech fall victories on the day.
Mawuli Nevis won four consecutive bouts after a first-round loss to place third overall in the weight class. He scored a pair of major decisions and won his third-place bout with a pin.

Arebalo captured the 174-pound weight class title with a 4-0 record that included a first-round pin and a technical fall.
Tucker Coffman won two matches with a pin and a tech fall to finish in second place in the bracket.

Baczek picked up two tech falls as part of a 4-0 day to win the 184-pound weight class.
Caden Friedt won two matches with a tech fall and a decision to claim second place in the bracket.
Teo Palubinskas finished third overall with three victories on the day, including a 5-3 sudden victory in the final round.

Heldt won three matches with pins as part of his 4-0 record for the day to win the 197-pound weight class title.
Grant Johnson finished in second place by winning three matches including a pin and a major decision.
Nick Casad earned two pins as part of a three-win day to finish in fourth place in the bracket.

Daniel Uribe finished second overall at 141 pounds with two wins by a major decision and tech fall on the day.
Eero Gross scored a pin and a tech fall on his way to claiming third place at 165 pounds.
Maxwell Bishop won three matches in the 285-pound weight class bracket to earn a second-place finish overall.
James Lewis finished in fifth place at 285 pounds with four victories including a major decision and a pin.

Wabash will compete at the NCAA Division III Central Regional Tournament to be held at Adrian College. The two-day tournament begins Friday, February 25.
