Beaver, Hupmann Sweep NCAC Weekly Honors

Wabash College senior guard Avery Beaver and junior post Noah Hupmann swept the weekly North Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball awards. Beaver earned NCAC Men's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week honors. Hupmann received the NCAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive time.

Beaver paced Wabash to a pair of road conference victories to keep the Little Giants at the top of the NCAC standings with two weeks remaining in the regular-season schedule. The senior guard averaged 19 points, four rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Beaver scored a career-best 20 points in Saturday's 89-81 win at Denison. He shot 54.5 percent from the field by making 6 of 11 attempts and connected on 4 of 7 three-point tries. His three-point basket at the end of the first half gave the Little Giants a 42-39 lead. Beaver scored 18 points in a 74-64 Wabash victory at Kenyon Wednesday evening. He hit 6 of 13 shots from the field (46.2 percent) and made 3 of 7 three-point tries (42.9 percent). The senior handed out three assists in the victory, as well.

Beaver shot 50 percent from the field (12 of 24) and from three-point range (7 of 14) over the two-game stretch.

Hupmann blocked six shots and grabbed ten rebounds in a pair of Wabash victories last week to keep the Little Giants at the top of the NCAC standings with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
The seven-foot, two-inch junior post player rejected two Kenyon shot attempts in Wednesday's 74-64 victory over the Owls. Hupmann corralled four rebounds, including two defensive boards to help limit Kenyon to no second-chance scoring points in the contest.

Saturday, Hupmann turned away four Denison shots to help Wabash claim an 89-81 victory to split the season series and claim its first win in Granville, Ohio, since November 2021. Hupmann's final block of the game came on a dunk attempt by Tyler Miller with 3:08 left in the game. Hupmann met Miller at the rim and rejected his shot attempt to help Wabash maintain its eight-point lead. The senior post player also grabbed four defensive rebounds for the Little Giants as part of a six-board effort.

Hupmann leads the conference and ranks 22nd among Division III players with 47 blocks and is 18th with an average of 2.35 blocks per contest.
