Wabash trimmed five shots off its first-round score on the final day of the 2024 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Golf Tournament held Saturday and Sunday at the Country Club of Terre Haute Saturday. The Little Giants tied for second place out of 14 teams, with senior
Brayden Weiss tying for first-place individual honors.
Weiss finished with two-under 140 over 36 holes to match the score of Lachlan Tatterson of Transylvania University. The Wabash senior shot a 72 on Saturday before carding a low round of 68 on Sunday to match Tatterson's score. The duo played two playoff holes to determine the tournament medalist, with Tatterson scoring a birdie on the second hole to win the title.
Sean Bledsoe tied for second in the final individual standings with a score of 148. The sophomore shot a 73 on Saturday, followed by a round of 75 on Sunday.
Matthew Lesniak tied for 15
th place playing as an individual. He shot rounds of 75 and 76 to finish with a two-day score of 151.
Mark Poole finished with a score of 154 (78-76) to tie for 26
th place.
Lewis Dellinger carded rounds of 80 and 76 for a two-round score of 156 to tie for 34
th place.
Miles Patterson wrapped up the scoring for the Little Giant team by tying for 55
th place out of 83 entries with a score of 160 (77-83).
Wabash finished with a team score of 595 with rounds of 300 and 295 to tie for second place with the University of Dubuque. Transylvania won the team title with a total of 585 strokes. Adrian College finished in fourth place, and the host Rose-Hulman squad placed fifth overall with a score of 606 strokes.
Wabash returns to the course to compete at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational on April 5 and 6.
