The 2023-2024 Wabash College basketball squad received Team Academic Excellence honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), announced Monday afternoon. Seven team members ---
Avery Beaver,
Vinny Buccilla,
Sam Comer,
Ahmoni Jones,
Champ McCorkle,
Styles McCorkle, and
Edreece Redmond --- earned places on the 2024 NABC Honor Court for their individual academic achievement.
Wabash finished the 2023-2024 academic year with a 3.27 team grade point average. The NABC recognized men's basketball programs that complete the academic year with a 3.0 or higher GPA. More than 360 programs received Academic Excellence awards for the 2023-24 academic year. The Little Giants earned the honor for the sixth consecutive season and the tenth time in program history.
Beaver, Buccilla, Comer, Jones, Champ and
Styles McCorkle, and Redmond joined over 2,100 juniors, seniors, and graduate students who finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA to earn NABC Honors Court recognition.
"The NABC Honor Roll is a recognition that we look forward to every year for our program," Wabash head basketball coach
Kyle Brumett said. "It demonstrates our team's commitment to their academics and understanding that a well-rounded Wabash experience will prepare them for long-term success long after basketball.
