Ryan West earned the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week after turning in two individual first-place finishes and was part of two winning Little Giant relays in Friday evening's 174-124 victory over Rose-Hulman in the first dual meet of the season.
West won the 200 individual medley with a season-best time of 1:59.64 after capturing the top spot in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.29. The sophomore paced the Wabash 200-medley relay team to a first-place finish by starting with a leadoff swim of 24.82 for a season-best time in the backstroke. He was also part of the Little Giants' winning 400 freestyle relay that closed out the meet with a top time of 3:18.41, with West swimming a leg in 50.21.
