NORMAL, Illinois --- Wabash improved six spots on Saturday to finish in 11th place out of 38 teams competing at the Illinois Wesleyan University Golf Invitational.

Wabash shot a final-round score of 297 at Ironwood Golf Club on Saturday after scoring a 305 on Friday at the Weibring Golf Club for a two-day total of 602. The Little Giants finished one shot back of the University of Wisconsin-Stout in tenth place with a score of 601 and two strokes behind ninth-place Carleton College with a 600.

Matthew Lesniak led Wabash by finishing in a tie for 35th place out of 228 golfers competing in the tournament. He moved up 16 places in the individual scoring by firing a final-round 74 to go with a 75 on Friday for a two-day total of 149. Lesniak scored an eagle on the 515-yard, par-five 11th hole, and scored two birdies on par-three holes as part of his two-over round for Saturday.

Freshman
Lane Notter picked up 69 individual places to finish tied for 43rd overall by carding a final round of 72 to finish even for the last 18 holes of the tournament. The first-year player posted three birdies, three bogies, and shot par on the remaining 12 holes. He scored a total of 150 strokes after posting a round of 78 on Friday.

Sean Bledsoe improved 19 places to finish tied for 51st place with a total score of 151. He carded a 75 on Saturday with two birdies after shooting a round of 76 on Friday.
Lewis Dellinger tied for 66th place with a total score of 152. He turned in rounds of 76 both days, including four birdies on Saturday.
Alex Schenkel tied for 194th place with a score of 163 (81-82).

Liam McAllister tied for 109th place with a score of 155 (78-77) playing as an individual.
Mason Pierle also played as an individual and finished in 172 place with a score of 161 (78-83).

Wabash competes in the Cochran Collegiate Invitational hosted by Rhodes College April 14-15.
