SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. — Freshman Finn Carteaux earned all-tournament honors to lead the Wabash College golf team to a tie for third place at the Music City Shootout hosted by Rose-Hulman and played at The Legacy Golf Club in Springfield, Tennessee.
the Little Giants' "A" team posted rounds of 313 and 304 to finish with a 36-hole total of 617 (+41), tying host Rose-Hulman for third place in the 15-team field. Bridgewater College claimed the team title with a score of 592 (304-288), while Augustana (Ill.) finished second at 613. The 36-hole event began Saturday but weather forced play to be suspended late in the opening round. Golfers returned Sunday morning to complete the final few holes of round one before beginning the second and final round of the tournament later that day.
Carteaux, a freshman from Brentwood, Tennessee, turned in the top performance for Wabash on his home-state course. He finished tied for eighth place individually with a two-round total of 151 (+7), opening with a 78 in Saturday's round before firing a one-over-par 73 in the second round Sunday to secure a spot on the all-tournament team.
His second-round 73 helped spark a nine-stroke improvement for the Little Giants as Wabash recorded a 304 team score in the final round—one of the stronger team rounds posted Sunday in the tournament.
Freshman Charlie Seaburg also delivered a solid performance for Wabash, finishing tied for 19th place with a two-round score of 154 (+10). Seaburg opened with a 76 before adding a 78 in the final round.
