CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Wabash College golf team has been honored with the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), marking the second consecutive year the program has received national academic recognition.
The Little Giants recorded a 3.59 cumulative grade-point average for the academic year, earning President's Special Recognition from the GCAA. That distinction is reserved for programs that achieve a team GPA of 3.5 or higher. Wabash is one of only 25 NCAA Division III teams nationwide to receive the honor this year.
"Our guys made the most of every opportunity in the classroom and on the course this year," Wabash head golf coach Justin Kopp said. "This is the second year in a row that the team has earned President's Special Recognition for team GPA. I'm very proud of the seriousness this team approaches academics and am happy that we are building a culture where academics come first. One of our annual goals is to be among the best academic programs in the country, and I applaud the team for stepping up and performing well at a school where achieving a high GPA is not easy. I look forward to the team working hard to earn this award for a third straight year this upcoming year."
A GCAA-record 292 programs from across six collegiate divisions earned the Platform Golf Team Academic Award in 2024-25 by achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
