RICHMOND, Ind. — The Wabash College golf team tied for first place at the 4th Annual Forest Hills Invitational on Sunday before finishing second in a playoff against Spalding University.
Both teams carded a two-round score of 621 (+61) at the Forest Hills Country Club. The Little Giants posted rounds of 310 and 311 to match the Golden Eagles, who shot 313 and 308. Spalding secured the tournament title in the playoff.
Senior Sean Bledsoe paced Wabash with a fifth-place finish individually, firing rounds of 77 and 75 for a 152 (+12). Liam McAllister and Charlie Seaburg both tied for seventh overall at 154 (+14), with McAllister competing for the "A" team and Seaburg leading the "B" squad.
Mason Pierle tied for ninth at 156 (+16) after opening with a 75, while Leo Dellinger finished tied for 22nd at 160 (+20). Finn Carteaux rounded out the "A" lineup with a 164 (+24), tying for 36th place.
The Wabash "B" team also turned in a strong showing, tying for seventh in the team standings with Earlham at 644 (+84). Seaburg's 154 led the group, followed by Coen Bauschek at 157 (+17, T-13), Alex Schenkel at 166 (+26, T-41), Zane Huber at 167 (+27, T-46), and Quinn Hundt at 179 (+39, T-60).
Defiance finished third in the team standings at 625 (+65), while Anderson placed fourth at 626 (+66).
The invitational was played at Forest Hills Country Club, a par-70 course measuring 6,160 yards.
Wabash competes next weekend at the Donald Ross Invitational hosted by John Carroll University.
