Day Named to CSC Academic All-America Third Team

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Wabash College senior wrestler James Day has been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Men's At-Large Third Team.
 
Day is the 41st Wabash College student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors.
 
The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The men's at-large program includes student-athletes from sports such as wrestling, volleyball, golf, lacrosse, ice hockey, fencing, gymnastics, rifle, skiing, water polo, and other NCAA and NAIA championship sports. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
 
Day, a biology major from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, earned Academic All-America honors after completing one of the top seasons in Wabash wrestling history. He finished as the 2026 NCAA Division III national runner-up at 133 pounds after winning the NCAA Division III Region V championship and qualifying for the national tournament.
 
Day finished his senior season with a 39-8 record, including 11 pins and 13 technical falls. He earned All-America honors for the third time in his career with his second-place finish at the national championship meet.
 
Day also was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American for the fourth consecutive season. He completed his Wabash career ranked sixth in program history with 134 victories.
 
Day also was named a 2026 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.
